Church

The church’s interior is beautiful. A high vaulted wooden ceiling, stained glass windows, the pipes of the organ and timber panelling need to be seen to be believed. The Art Deco lighting creates a mood second to none. Beyond its beauty, the church is a versatile and functional space. Generations of worship and worshipers make this a very special place.

Special Church Services:

The Church is available for Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals by arrangement. The services are conducted according to the rites of the Uniting Church in Australia.  For example, when couples are married at Stonnington Community Uniting Church these rites include the Declaration of Purpose, the Marriage Vows and the Marriage Blessings.

Music Events:

Music in the Church is a joy. Classical or contemporary music becomes an experience not merely an event in a way that only old timber, design and history can provide. The Musical Society of Victoria hold regular concerts in the church, making use of our excellent acoustics and Grand Piano. Other music groups book the church for occasional concerts.

Hall

Along-side the church is a medium sized hall for up to about 80 persons available for community groups to hire on a regular basis or for one-off events. The hall can be used on its own or in conjunction with the kitchen and the meeting room.

Meeting Room

The Margaret McKinnon Room is our meeting room, available for meetings or small groups up to 20 persons. It can be booked on its own or in conjunction with the Kitchen and the Hall.

Kitchen

The church has an excellent kitchen facility that can be hired to cater for your function. There is a good supply of crockery and cutlery that can be hired at an extra charge.

The Centre has a number of rooms and spaces available including:

Church/Auditorium

The Church doubles as an auditorium with audiovisual capabilities. It is useful for groups or meetings up to 100 people.

Hall

The hall has a dividing soundproof partition. It can cater for up to 50 people

Link Space

The link space/cafe is a great space between the auditorium and hall. It is connected to the kitchen

Meeting Rooms

There are also meeting rooms which suit small groups of people

Kitchenette

The Kitchenette and servery open to the Link Space
